Altera Real Estate was founded in October, 2008 by Gary Thomas and Dennis and Colleen Badagliacco, well-known and respected leaders in the real estate business. Gary is a second generation Realtor with over 24 years of brokerage ownership in Orange County, CA. His firm has 8 offices. Gary was the 2001 President of the California Association of Realtors, and will be the National Association of Realtors President in 2013.The Badagliaccos established their San Jose/Silicon Valley firm in 1980; it has since grown to 4 offices. Colleen Badagliacco was the 2007 President of the California Association of Realtors. All partners are active as brokers and leaders in their communities, locally, statewide, and nationally.

Altera, which means ‘Pride’ in Italian, is a significant new real estate business model. Based on the strong local connections of its affiliates, Altera Real Estate provides the common vision and focus of a national brand through its licensed resources, reflecting and supporting the values and dynamism of its local, independent brokers in innovative ways. We choose to work with established and successful entrepreneurs in selected markets and give them area exclusivity to grow their companies within the Altera Real Estate brand. We understand that “Pride begins at Home”; there is no substitute for local knowledge and personal commitment. To grow and succeed in an ever-changing business environment, our affiliates will have strong local roots; our resources will help provide the ‘global’ reach.
